What’s your background?
As a digital and creative artist, I explore the dynamic interplay of dance and movement through innovative visual expressions, camera work and film.
As a recent Dance graduate from The University of Salford, I now have the freedom to explore new ideas and artforms through the digital realm.
Who are your biggest influences? Artistically? Who inspired you to become an artist?
My artistic influence is deeply rooted in my surroundings and the art world itself. Inspiration springs from the everyday, from finding creative interplay in light and shadow, rhythm of urban life or nature.
Rather than emulating a specific artist, my influence is open to all observations and experiences, transforming the ‘ordinary’ into something visually compelling.
How have you developed your career? (From student to artist)
My career has been a constant journey of growth and exploration. Experimenting with various ideas and pushing the boundaries of my creativity, while building a solid portfolio showcasing my best work.
At what point did you begin to call yourself an artist? What was it that made you think ‘I am an artist!’?
It wasn’t until my visit to Berlin with Peshkar that I truly began to embrace the title of ‘Artist’.
My perspective after this trip shifted, seeing art as more of a means for communication, a way to distil complex idea and emotions into something tangible.
If my work can evoke a response from a viewer, whether positive or negative, challenge assumptions or simply make someone feel something, then I have accomplished the title.
What is an artistic outlook on life?
Coming from my dance background, an artistic outlook on life means seeing the world as a canvas for movement, rhythm, and visual storytelling. It is about finding inspiration in everyday moments and transforming them into compelling narratives through choreography or cinematography / camera work.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
Embrace the hustle, but do not forget your worth.
Network like crazy, be open to new opportunities, and always deliver your best work.
