Peshkar receive four year Arts Council funding
Today Peshkar is pleased to announce a further four years funding as a member of the Arts Council England’s National Portfolio (NPO) of organsations, 2018-2022.
The grant, which amounts to £303,176 over the period, is the largest award ever made to Peshkar, and recognises the Oldham based company’s ongoing commitment to improving the lives of young people through the arts across England’s North West.
Abdul Malik Ahad, Peshkar Chair said “we are delighted with this news, and the endorsement of Arts Council England’s continued investment in Peshkar. It is fantastic news for our participants and artists who work so tirelessly across a range of programmes including our nationally recognised Arts Award offer and our rapidily developing international programme.”
Mr Ahad, himself an original participant of Peshkar back in 1991 added “thanks must go to the team and trustees for continuing to evolve the mission of the organisation, ensuring it’s relevance and quality in the long term. We have an exciting future ahead of us for sure.”
