In the first full week of the second residential of the Under 25 Routes project we asked Bill Duffy - one of our British artists - to keep a diary of activities during that week. Which you canread below.
“On Monday, the groups presented their pieces they had been working on from last week.
My group were doing a combination of music and movement with paint as a reaction to the music. In the afternoon, we worked on the piece with Sara Ribeiro and gave it a new focus devising animal characters for each other.

On Tuesday, we were on our own in the studio and I worked on the music for the piece making it more like sound effects rather than music. I found ways to simulate bird call using a slide.
On Wednesday, Joao Garcia Miguel came into the studio for a meeting with the group. We sorted out our concerns about various logistical issues and I requested a drum kit for the studio.
Thursday saw the emergence of Rute Alegria a shamanic practitioner who did a session with us involving past life regression, contact with our ancestors and tarot reading. In the evening, we saw an intense play by Miguel Moreira entitled ‘O Duelo’ which was confrontational to say the least but beautiful in its execution.
On Friday I stayed at home and worked on drawing cartoons in order to hone my multidisciplinary skills. “
